About the event
Help us bring in the Lunar New Year and celebrate the year of the rabbit by learning a little about the vast history of tea while sipping a cup with friends. Program starts at 11am with open house tea tasting to follow.
The History of Tea
Most people know tea as the quintessential English drink and that it originated in China. Fewer know the many fascinating stories of how tea shaped the world we know today, expanding empires, starting wars, and engaging in international espionage. The presentation hits the highlights of the history of tea, and is accompanied by a tasting of fine teas of the world to celebrate the start of the Lunar New Year.
In addition to the History of Tea and tea tasting, we'll have lunar new year arts & crafts and snacks to share.
This Cascadia Tea Event is hosted by Whatcom Tea and presented by Charles & Laurie Dawson.
